Insider: AirPods Pro 3 will get heart rate monitoring, but release is still months away

After months of anticipation and leaks, Apple has finally announced the new Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones. One of the key new features is heart rate monitoring, which is expected to appear in AirPods in the future.
Here's What We Know
Powerbeats Pro 2 have LED optical sensors that pulse more than 100 times per second, measuring heart rate through blood flow. This feature integrates with popular fitness apps, allowing you to collect data during workouts and synchronise it with the Apple Health app on your iPhone.
The new product features an H2 chip (as in AirPods Pro 2), active noise cancellation (ANC), personalised spatial audio, and an optical heart rate sensor.
This technology is based on the heart rate sensors used in the Apple Watch. If the user wears both Powerbeats Pro 2 and Apple Watch, apps will automatically use the data from the Apple Watch. It is likely that a similar system will be applied to future AirPods.
Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman confirmed in his article that the new AirPods with heart rate monitoring feature still need several months to be launched. This feature is expected to appear in AirPods Pro 3, which is scheduled to launch no earlier than the end of 2025.
