The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and approved the Marichka field kitchen for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

The kitchen was developed by a Ukrainian company to replace outdated Soviet models. It is capable of providing hot meals to a unit of up to 250 people. The design takes into account the wishes of the military in terms of ease of use and modernisation, and includes elements borrowed from the field kitchens of NATO armies.

"The Marichka is mounted on a single-axle truck trailer chassis. With similar dimensions to Soviet models, it can cook twice as many first and second courses. The kitchen is also equipped with two 55-litre ovens, a set of crockery and technical containers.

It runs on diesel or solid fuel, and the optimised heating system allows for faster cooking and fuel savings. The integrated modular umbrella cover eliminates the need for an additional tent, which reduces the time to deploy to the working position.
