Huawei is preparing to launch a new premium smartphone, the Pura 80 Ultra, which is scheduled to launch in 2025, although there is a possibility that its release will be delayed compared to its predecessor.

Here's What We Know

According to an insider at Digital Chat Station, this smartphone can be a real breakthrough thanks to its own Xmage camera sensor developed by the company.

Although the Pura 70 Ultra cameras showed positive results during testing, the next model will be even better thanks to a new 1-inch sensor. Importantly, this sensor will be manufactured directly by Huawei's Xmage division, rather than by a third-party supplier such as Sony, which should have a positive impact on the integration of the technology with the rest of the smartphone system.

The latest smartphone camera is expected to use RYYB pixel matrix technology, which improves light sensitivity, which is important for modern smartphones. In addition, all the cameras on the back of the Pura 80 Ultra are likely to feature variable aperture, which will allow for more precise control of the amount of light that hits the sensor.

This news is based on the engineering samples that have become available, and it is possible that the Pura 80 Ultra announcement will take place after the release of another Huawei smartphone, Pocket 3, also scheduled for 2025.

It is known that Huawei will introduce the Tri-Fold smartphone Mate XT Ultimate on the international market on 18 February. This device, which was first introduced in China back in September 2024, will be available in international markets.
