Previously, Apple did not allow you to transfer purchased apps and digital content from one account to another. Now this is changing. The company has officially announced that users can combine their digital purchases between two Apple IDs.

Here's What We Know

Apple has already published official instructions on how to do this.

Now you can transfer applications, music, books, films, and other content from an additional account to the main one. This is useful for those who use one account for iCloud and another for purchases. However, you can't transfer purchases from your main account to your secondary account.

To transfer, users will need an email, phone number, and password from both accounts. Before the process can begin, Apple requires several conditions to be met: the additional account must not be part of another Family Sharing group and must not participate in purchase sharing.

Two-factor authentication must also be enabled on both accounts. In addition, both accounts must be registered in the same country or region. Before you start the transfer, you should spend all remaining funds on the additional account and make sure that there are no pre-orders or rented content on it.

How To Switch It On

To start the process, open Settings, go to Media & Purchases, View Account, and Migrate Purchases. After the migration is complete, be sure to sign out of the additional account on all devices, as you will no longer be able to make purchases from it.

This feature is currently only available for users in the United States. It is not yet supported in the United Kingdom, the European Union, or India.
