Insider says iPhone 17 Pro Max will have smaller Dynamic Island
The flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a smaller Dynamic Island, according to Chinese insider Digital Chat Station.
Here's What We Know
This will be possible thanks to a new technology for Face ID that combines all the necessary components in one compact module. This will reduce the size and thickness of the screen notch.
Similar technology is expected to appear in the new iPad Pro, as well as in the rumoured foldable iPad. Unlike traditional lenses, which use curved lenses to refract light, a metallic lens is an ultra-thin, flat lens with nanostructures that precisely control and focus light.
However, these rumours contradict the statement of analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who claimed in January that the Dynamic Island in the iPhone 17 series would not change. At the same time, analyst Jeff Pu predicted the introduction of metal and a smaller notch in the Pro Max version back in 2023.
Apple first introduced Dynamic Island in 2022 with the iPhone 14 Pro. Since then, the notch has remained unchanged in all subsequent models. The company is expected to introduce the iPhone 17 in September 2025.
Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook intrigued social media users with a new announcement. In his post, he wrote: "Get ready to meet a new family member" and added the hashtag #AppleLaunch.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the most likely announcement is the new iPhone SE. He previously reported that Apple plans to unveil the device next week.
