Google has released Android 16 Beta 2, and Pixel users can now configure the double-press of the power button. Previously, this gesture automatically opened the camera, but now you can choose Google Wallet as an alternative.

Here's What We Know

This new option is available in the settings: "System", "Gestures", "Double press the power button". Users can choose between launching the camera or wallet by default. If Google Wallet is selected, double-pressing the power button will open the wallet, regardless of which app is running at the time. However, if your phone is locked, you will have to unlock it first to view the cards - this is for security reasons.

The ability to quickly access Google Wallet will come in handy for those who frequently use contactless payments or store tickets and passes in digital format. Despite this, the feature is currently limited to only two options - camera and wallet. Other manufacturers offer a wider range of gesture settings, so Google is limiting the customisation options for now.

Android 16 Beta 2 is already available for testing, and this change could make using Pixel even more convenient for smartphone owners.

Android 16 will be able to warn users about automatic time zone changes. The new beta version of Android 16 includes an option that allows you to receive notifications when the time on your device is automatically updated. This feature can be activated in the settings in the System, Date & Time section.
