Here's What We Know
The incident occurred on 12 February at around 23:46 local time. The aircraft carrier was not damaged, its nuclear power plants remained intact. There are no reports of injuries among the crew.
The Besiktas-M is flying the Panamanian flag, but there is no information about its damage or possible casualties. The Marinetraffic monitoring service recorded the vessel in the Eastern Mediterranean. Due to the significant difference in displacement, the civilian vessel could have sustained serious hull damage.

The US Sixth Fleet has launched an investigation into the collision.
The USS Harry S. Truman is participating in Operation Prosperity Guardian in the Red Sea, aimed at protecting civilian shipping from Houthi attacks. At the end of 2022, a US missile cruiser accidentally shot down an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet while it was flying over the Red Sea. In January, the aircraft carrier group was attacked by drones and missiles, according to Houthis, but the US does not acknowledge this.
