Huawei has introduced the AX1, a new low-cost router that supports dual-band Wi-Fi 5 with maximum speeds of up to 1167 Mbps and has four Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Here's What We Know

The new product is available in the Chinese market for 129 yuan (approximately $18).

Huawei Router AX1 supports two frequency bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. At 2.4 GHz, the speed reaches 300 Mbit/s, which improves coverage and signal stability through walls. This band provides excellent range.

At 5 GHz, the speed is up to 867 Mbps, which is suitable for online gaming and HD streaming with minimal latency. In addition, the router automatically switches devices to the optimal band for the best connection.

The router is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports with automatic WAN/LAN detection, which simplifies setup without the need to manually identify ports. The high-frequency antennas guarantee signal stability and reduce interference, which ensures reliable connectivity in multiple rooms.

Huawei Router AX1 runs on HarmonyOS, which allows for easy integration with other Huawei devices. Users can control the router through the Huawei Smart Life app, which allows them to monitor the network, diagnose connectivity, and visualise Wi-Fi coverage.

For families, the router offers parental control functions, allowing you to set an Internet access schedule and restrict access to certain sites. In addition, it is possible to create a guest Wi-Fi network for visitors, which increases security.
