The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has taken the top spot in DXOMARK's Best Displays ranking, beating its predecessors and competitors.

Here's What We Know

The device received a score of 160, making it the leader in both the global and ultra-premium categories. The second spot was shared by Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pro with a score of 158, followed by Honor Magic 6 Pro and Samsung S25+ and S25 with a score of 157 each. The S24 Ultra lagged behind with a score of 155.

According to the DXOMARK report, the S25 Ultra provides excellent readability outdoors with maximum brightness and effective anti-reflective coating, and also showed good results indoors. At the same time, DXOMARK experts noted an inflated minimum brightness in low light.

Improvements in colour fidelity were also noted. In colour fidelity mode, the S25 Ultra shows better colour accuracy and less colour shift at different viewing angles compared to the S24 Ultra. Despite the optimised blue light management, its high emission in Night mode prevented it from receiving the DXOMARK tag for eye comfort, particularly due to the high minimum screen brightness.

The device's video performance has also improved significantly, especially in low-light conditions where the S24 Ultra struggled. The S25 Ultra now has a maximum HDR brightness of 24 nits in low-light conditions, improving viewing comfort and maintaining well-tuned local contrasts indoors and in low-light conditions. Frame processing is efficient, with no frame skips during playback tests.

Screen interaction is noted as fairly smooth for web browsing and gallery navigation. However, the display occasionally registers unwanted touches and lags a bit behind in touch responsiveness compared to other ultra-premium competitors.
