State of Play 2025 was watched by more than 2 million people at its peak, which was a record for the presentation

This year's first Sony State of Play show reached a record number of viewers, with more than 2 million simultaneous views. This was the first time the event had ever surpassed this mark and also recorded the longest viewing time of any previous broadcast.

During the hour-long broadcast, State of Play received 1.96 million hours of viewing and an average audience of 1.8 million viewers - both new records for the series.
2025 was the first year when more than a thousand channels broadcast State of Play. While YouTube remained the main source of views, about 800 streamers broadcast the event on Twitch.
The official PlayStation YouTube channel was the most popular streamer of the event, hosting three streams: in Japanese, English, and with English subtitles. The total number of views of Japanese and English broadcasts exceeded 700 thousand.
State of Play 2025 featured some of the most popular gaming franchises. For example, Borderlands 4 with a release date of September 2025 was shown, as well as a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, which will be released on 28 August this year. In addition, new DLC for Lies of P was presented, as well as announcements for Monster Hunter, Digimon, and Splitgate.
