In recent years, Japanese developers have been increasingly paying attention to PC versions of their games. Capcom, which initially took its time with the simultaneous release of Monster Hunter on PC and console, changed its policy with the approach of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Here's What We Know

In an interview with the developers of Monster Hunter Wilds, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed the importance of PC for Japanese games: "Yes, there are more players playing on PC than ever before, including in Japan. Therefore, we see opportunities for the series to attract new players who have not yet tried it, if it is their favourite platform."

That's why Capcom aims to implement crossplay in Monster Hunter Wilds from day 1, so players can choose their platform and hunt with friends.

As a reminder, the Monster Hunter Wilds beta reached a peak of 463,798 players on PC. Monster Hunter World attracted 334,684 players at launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on 28 February for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
