Casio launches G-Shock GA-V01 in four vibrant colours
After numerous rumours and teasers, Casio has finally unveiled the new G-Shock GA-V01 series of watches.
Here's What We Know
The series includes four striking models: GA-V01-1A (black), GA-V01-2A (magenta), GA-V01-8A (silver) and GA-V01-9A (lime green).
These watches are a radical change from the usual G-Shock models, and for some fans of the brand, they may seem too bold.
The design of the watch looks futuristic with 3D dials that appear to be suspended and an LCD screen that looks like an alien's eyes. It also has a massive size: 58.2 mm wide and 19.6 mm thick, weighing 74 grams.
Despite its futuristic look, GA-V01 retains all the traditional G-Shock benefits: 10 years of battery life, shock resistance, water resistance to 200 metres and a comfortable rubber strap. In addition, the watch features dual LED lighting, world time for 48 cities, a stopwatch with 1/100th of a second accuracy, a countdown timer and the ability to set up to five daily alarms.
The G-Shock GA-V01 series will be available first in China from 21 February. The GA-V01-1A, GA-V01-9A, and GA-V01-2A models will cost around 990 yuan (~136 USD), while the GA-V01-8A will cost 1,090 yuan (~150 USD). However, the exact release date in other countries has not yet been disclosed.
Casio has recently released the G-Shock Gravitymaster, Mudman and Rangeman in a bright Caution Yellow design. The Gravitymaster GR-B300RY-1A9JF, Mudman GW-9500MRY-1A9JF and Rangeman GPR-H1000RY-1A9JR are now available for purchase in Japan.
