In a recent interview, the former head of PlayStation Studios, Shugei Yoshida, shared some interesting observations on indie game sales on PlayStation and Nintendo. According to him, in recent years, PlayStation 5 has significantly closed the gap in indie game sales compared to Nintendo Switch.

Here's What We Know

Yoshida noted that a few years ago, indie developers often reported that their games on Nintendo Switch sold 3-5 times better than on PlayStation. However, thanks to the efforts of the PlayStation team, this gap has been gradually narrowing.

Last year, some indie titles even showed better sales on PlayStation than on other platforms, including PC.

This progress can be partly attributed to Sony's active support of indie developers through the PlayStation indies initiative and regular coverage of their projects at events like State of Play.
