Nintendo has announced that starting from 25 March 2025, users will no longer be able to earn Gold Points when purchasing digital games on the Nintendo Switch eShop. These points were previously awarded for the purchase of games and could be used to receive discounts on future purchases.

Here's What We Know

The My Nintendo programme was launched in 2016, offering users the opportunity to earn Gold and Platinum Points for various activities, such as purchasing games or completing certain tasks. Gold Points were awarded for game purchases and could be used for discounts on future eShop purchases.

After 25 March 2025, users will no longer be able to earn Gold Points when purchasing digital games. However, the points already accumulated will remain valid for 12 months from the date of their receipt and can be used until the end of this period. In addition, it will be possible to earn Gold Points for registering new physical copies of games if the game was released before 25 March 2025 and is registered within two years of release.

Platinum Points, which are earned for completing various tasks, will continue to function unchanged.
