Moldova receives 29 HMMWV off-road vehicles from the USA
The Moldovan Armed Forces received 29 new HMMWVs as part of military assistance from the United States of America.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Moldova. The handover ceremony took place on 18 February at military unit 142 in Chisinau.
The event was attended by the Adviser to the President of Moldova on Defence and National Security, Secretary of the Supreme Security Council Stanislav Secrieru, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Moldova Daniela DiPierro, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff and military attaches.

Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatîi noted that the transfer of equipment confirms the effectiveness of cooperation between Moldova and the United States in the defence sector. According to him, this assistance is "a vivid example of effective and long-term cooperation".
According to the Ministry of Defence, the armoured vehicles were manufactured in 2024. The delivery brings the total fleet of HMMWVs in the Moldovan Armed Forces to 129 units.
