Samsung unveils 4K 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor in China

Samsung has officially launched its new Odyssey G81SF gaming monitor in the Chinese market. This monitor with a 27-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED display was first demonstrated at CES 2025.
Here's What We Know
The price of the monitor is 7,999 yuan (approximately $1,102).
Samsung claims that the Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) is the world's first 4K OLED monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, using the company's fourth generation of QD-OLED panels. The monitor has a resolution of 3840×2160, a pixel density of 165 ppi and a 0.03ms GtG response time. This provides a clear image with minimal blurring and lag, making the gaming experience smoother.
The G81SF delivers excellent colour accuracy with 99.3% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 10-bit colour. Its HDR brightness reaches 1000 nits, while its SDR brightness is 250 nits, providing vivid visuals for gaming and creative tasks.

Additionally, the monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies and is compatible with Nvidia G-Sync, which helps eliminate image tearing and create a smooth gaming experience. Its VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification guarantees deeper blacks and higher contrast than traditional LCDs.
Samsung has integrated Pulsating Heat Pipe technology into the new monitor to improve cooling, which is five times more efficient than traditional graphene systems. It helps to prevent OLED screens from burn-in by using intelligent static image detection and built-in screen savers, which extends the panel's lifespan.
The Odyssey G81SF also features a flexible stand with adjustable tilt, height and swivel to personalise your viewing angle. The monitor has HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort and USB-C ports, as well as KVM and PIP functionality.
