New Centurio X-30 robot armed with a 30 mm cannon presented in France

The French company KNDS France has officially presented the Centurio X-30 combat robot at the IDEX 2025 arms exhibition in Abu Dhabi. This is the latest modification of the Phobos unmanned ground platform, which is equipped with a remotely controlled ARX-30 tower with a 30 mm cannon.
Here's What We Know
The Centurio X-30 is the result of a collaboration between KNDS France and SERA Ingénierie, a subsidiary of SOGECLAIR. It continues the development of the robotic line, which began back in 2018 with Optio X20, the first armed robot from KNDS France. However, the then version, which was based on the Estonian THeMIS platform, was not of interest to the French army.
The new robot is designed to provide fire support for infantry units and demonstrates significant progress in military robotics.
After the tests in 2024 at Camp Canjouers, the company presented Centurio, equipped with a 20 mm cannon. The next step was the creation of Centurio X-30, which received more powerful weapons and improved combat performance.
The Centurio X-30 can reach speeds of up to 60 km/h and can operate without satellite geolocation, making it less dependent on external signals. The control system allows remote control by only one operator, who is responsible for navigation and firing. Thanks to advanced communication systems, the robot is able to operate in conditions of intense electronic interference.
KNDS France notes that Centurio X-30 can move autonomously, adapting to the terrain, which reduces the burden on the operator in combat conditions.
