BAE Systems presents new amphibious combat vehicle

BAE Systems has unveiled an amphibious combat vehicle at the IDEX 2025 International Defence Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates. This is an 8×8 platform that combines the capabilities of amphibious operations in the open ocean and on land.
Here's What We Know
The ACV was created as part of the US Marine Corps Systems Command programme to modernise amphibious vehicles and gradually replace outdated AAVs. Initially, the project envisaged the creation of a high-speed vehicle for water operations, but later the concept changed to the development of a flexible multi-phase programme to create different types of amphibious vehicles.

The development was carried out by BAE Systems in collaboration with Iveco Defence Vehicle. The result is a platform that combines reinforced armour, high mobility and the ability to integrate modern weapon systems. The ACV is available in four versions: for transporting personnel, command vehicle, infantry fighting vehicle with a 30 mm cannon, and repair and evacuation vehicle.
According to Rebecca McGrane, vice president of amphibious programmes at BAE Systems, the vehicle was designed with modernisation in mind and is able to adapt to various combat missions, increasing the effectiveness of military operations.
