The Chinese break records again: animated project Ne Zha 2 becomes the 9th highest-grossing film in history, earning $1.6 billion

Chinese animated film Ne Zha 2 continues to set new records, becoming the highest-grossing Chinese animated film of all time. In the 20 days since its premiere, it has already grossed over $1.6 billion and is expected to reach the $2 billion mark in the near future.
Here's What We Know
The animated film debuted during the Chinese New Year celebrations and quickly surpassed the box office of its predecessor, as well as the previous Chinese film record, The Battle of Lake Changjin. Ne Zha 2 has already taken the ninth place in the list of the highest-grossing films of all time, ahead of such hits as The Lion King and Jurassic World.
The Chinese platform Maoyan predicts that the film's total revenue in China could exceed $2 billion, which would put it alongside such classic projects as Titanic and Avatar.
At the same time, Ne Zha 2 is very close to breaking Inside Out 2's gross and becoming the highest-grossing animated film ever.
Ne Zha 2 continues the story of the character Nezh, who fights sea monsters and divine forces.
