Journalists tested Mac control with the Oppo Find N5 and shared their impressions
Yesterday, the official presentation of the Oppo Find N5 took place. Besides the fact that at the moment it is the thinnest dual fold smartphone with an almost invisible fold in the middle of the screen, the gadget has another important feature - with its help you can remotely control your Mac and share files with it.
Here's What We Know
Journalists of The Verge tested the new smartphone and found out how the interaction of Oppo Find N5 with Apple computers is realised and how convenient it is.
So, such a connection works with the help of Oppo O Plus Connect application: one half of the gadget is used as a screen, the second half - as a touch keyboard, so in this position the smartphone resembles a laptop, but the image can be stretched to the full screen. That said, the Oppo Find N5 and Mac don't necessarily need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Obviously, the Mac operating system and its functionality were not developed with the expectation of touch control, so it was not too convenient to control the computer with the smartphone, but if it is necessary, it is quite possible.
But the file sharing is much better, it goes without difficulties and is much more comfortable than the standard exchange between Android and Mac. But this option is only possible when both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Once the devices are synchronised, all files that are on the Find N5 are immediately available on the Mac and can be transferred wirelessly.
All the details about Oppo Find N5 can be found in our material.
Recall, the global release of the thinnest foldable smartphone will be held on 28 February.
