Alpine has released the first image of the A390 "sporty fastback"

French carmaker Alpine has unveiled the first image of the production version of the A390, its new low-slung electric crossover that the company is positioning as a "sporty fastback". The vehicle will officially premiere on 27 May 2025. The A390 will be the second model in the Alpine Dream Garage series, after the hot A290 hatchback.
Here's What We Know
The production Alpine A390 is modelled on the A390_β concept car unveiled on 14 October 2024 at the Paris Motor Show (pictured below).

Along with confirming the premiere date, Alpine has published a teaser image showing a close-up of the car's front silhouette. Key design elements include a transverse light bar with Alpine lettering and 12 triangular Daytime Running Lights (DRL) LEDs clustered in large triangles on the left and right.
Judging by the image, the production version will retain the hovering front end design first seen on the concept, where the body section with the light bar is positioned higher than the leading edge of the bonnet, probably to improve aerodynamic performance.
The A390 is based on Renault Group's AmpR Medium platform, formerly known as CMF-EV and used in models such as the Renault Megane E-Tech. Alpine has previously stated that the A390 will feature a torque vectoring system for maximum agility and will be capable of producing over 600bhp in top-end trims.
Sales of the A390 in Europe are expected to begin in late 2025.
