IVECO has delivered two IVECO S-eWay Fuel Cell heavy-duty tractors to BMW, a partner of the H2Haul project. The vehicles were unveiled at a special event organised by BMW at its plant in Leipzig, Germany. The trucks will transport parts between Bavaria (Nuremberg) and Leipzig (BMW plant), supported by two new hydrogen refuelling stations from TEAL Mobility in Leipzig and Hormersdorf.

Here's What We Know

The European H2Haul project aims to demonstrate the reliability of hydrogen-fuelled trucks. The vehicles are being tested in the field in co-operation with different hydrogen suppliers and in different geographical ecosystems.

The IVECO S-eWay Fuel Cell has a range of up to 800km, refuels in 20 minutes and can hold 70kg of compressed H2 at 700 bar. IVECO expects the S-eWay Fuel Cell to be a breakthrough in long-distance, zero-emission transport thanks to its long range and payload capacity.

The two IVECO S-eWay Fuel Cell trucks delivered by BMW are part of a fleet of 12 hydrogen-fuelled heavy-duty trucks that IVECO is deploying at strategic sites in Germany, France and Switzerland as part of the H2Haul project to demonstrate the future viability of hydrogen fuel cell trucks.
