Potensic has announced the new Atom 2 drone, a lightweight and compact device weighing just 249 grams, including a battery, propellers, and microSD card.

Here's What We Know

This drone is ideal for countries where legislation limits the weight of drones to 250 grams.

The Atom 2 has a camera that captures 48-megapixel photos and 4K HDR video at 30 frames per second. Thanks to its f/1.8 aperture lens, it offers excellent low-light performance, while the CMOS sensor from Sony ensures crisp, bright images.

The drone has a foldable design measuring 3.5 x 5.6 x 2.3 inches, can climb to a height of up to 120 metres and reach speeds of up to 16 metres per second. The potential flight altitude is 120 metres, but users must comply with local flight altitude regulations. The Atom 2 has the potential to operate in wind speeds of up to 38 km/h.

The flight time without recharging is 32 minutes, but this figure is only achievable in calm conditions. Thanks to the built-in GPS, the drone can independently follow predefined routes, track the user, and take photos or videos during the flight.

The Atom 2 uses PixSync 4.0 technology for video transmission, which allows it to receive a signal at a distance of up to 10 km.

The device is already available for pre-order on the manufacturer's website for $329, and deliveries will start in 30 days. A more budget-friendly Potensic Atom SE model is also available on Amazon.
