Apple has officially announced the long-awaited introduction of its Apple Intelligence AI features that will take place along with the release of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 in April 2025.

Here's What We Know

With these versions, the EU will finally have access to Apple Intelligence features for the first time.

Apple is also improving language support for Apple Intelligence. The new update will include support for multiple languages, such as French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and localised English for Singapore and India. This will ensure that Apple Intelligence is available in "virtually every region of the world", expanding its use to a diverse audience.

In addition, Apple Intelligence will make its debut on Apple Vision Pro, initially available in English (US) only. This integration aims to revolutionise the way users communicate, collaborate, and express themselves through innovative AI capabilities.

Although Apple promises to continue to expand the Apple Intelligence feature set "in the coming months", the company has admitted that a very AI-enabled version of Siri will not be included in the April release of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4. This suggests that users may need to wait a little longer to get the AI version of Siri.

Apple Intelligence uses on-device processing, which allows many models to run directly on the iPhone. For queries that require the use of large models (e.g., complex algorithms or large datasets), Apple uses Private Cloud Compute technology.
