The new M10 Booker combat vehicle, developed for US Army infantry brigades, is being tested in Arctic conditions at the Arctic Regions training facility in Fort Greely, Alaska.

Here's What We Know

These tests follow the recent validation of the M35 105mm gun at the Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona. M10 Booker programme manager Peter George stressed the importance of such tests, noting that the crews of this vehicle must be prepared for any conditions.

The US Army plans to purchase about 500 M10 Booker units to reinforce infantry units. The contract for the initial production of the platform worth $323 million was signed last August with General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS). Production will take place in several states, including Michigan, Alabama, Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania, with the first deliveries scheduled for October 2026.

The M10 Booker outperforms current infantry support vehicles, including the Bradley, which is equipped with a 25mm cannon. The new vehicle has a 105mm M35 cannon, a 12.7mm turret mounted machine gun and twin 7.62mm machine guns, operated by a four-man crew.

Thanks to its 800 hp engine. The M10 Booker can reach speeds of up to 64 km/h, and its design allows two units to be transported aboard a C-17 military transport aircraft, enabling rapid deployment to combat zones.
