Huawei has presented a new budget smartphone Hi Nova 12z, which is currently available only in China.

Here's What We Know

This device is equipped with a powerful camera module, but its specifications are quite basic. The Hi Nova 12z has already gone on sale for about $300, but it is currently sold out. It is not known whether the phone will be available on the global market, although it can be assumed that the Nova 12z is an improved version of the Nova 12, the SE version of which is available in some regions.

The smartphone is equipped with an octa-core processor that does not support 5G, which is a rather unusual limitation for a device at this price. The manufacturer does not specify which SoC is installed in the Nova 12z, but the phone runs on a heavily modified version of Android without Google services, including the Play Store.

Hi Nova 12z has a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 by 2400 pixels, capable of covering the entire DCI-P3 colour space. The screen has a fill rate of almost 92%. The design of the device is simple and elegant.

The main camera on the back has a resolution of 108 MP, and the front camera has a resolution of 32 MP. Additionally, there is a 2MP depth-sensing camera. The Hi Nova 12z has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and the 4500mAh battery supports fast charging with up to 66W.

Huawei recently introduced the new AX1 budget router, which supports dual-band Wi-Fi 5 with maximum speeds of up to 1167Mbps and has four Gigabit Ethernet ports.
