PlayStation 5 Pro had a strong start in the US, but it seems to be losing momentum over time. According to analyst Mat Piscatella, the console has fallen behind the sales of the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Here's What We Know

It is worth noting that Sony has not announced official sales figures for PlayStatiob 5 Pro: it previously reported that as of 31 December 2024, about 75 million PlayStation 5 consoles had been shipped, but there was no specific data on PS 5 Pro.

Piscatello also announced a 38% year-on-year drop in PS5 hardware costs. Spending on Xbox Series fell by 50%, and on Nintendo Switch by 53%.

The decline in demand for Xbox and Switch hardware is somewhat understandable given Xbox's ongoing struggles for revenue and the approaching eighth anniversary of the Switch's release, as well as the emergence of a potential successor on the horizon. However, for Sony, the PS5 Pro may not have provided the expected boost.
