Sony has postponed the release date of the fourth Spider-Man film with Tom Holland from 24 July to 31 July 2026. This change avoids direct competition with Christopher Nolan's Odyssey, which will be released on 17 July 2026.

Here's What We Know

This change makes it possible to release two big blockbusters without the risk of releasing them in the same week. Now Odyssey will have two weeks of exclusive screening without serious competitors.

The new Spider-Man film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is set to begin filming this summer. Although Tom Holland has been confirmed as the lead, other details of the cast have not yet been disclosed. It is not known whether Zendaya will return as Michelle "MJ" Jones, who was in all three previous instalments.

However, it is known that Zendaya is part of the cast of The Odyssey, where she will once again star alongside Holland, who is also involved in Nolan's film. This adaptation of Homer's ancient Greek poem began filming a few weeks ago.
