Baltic and Scandinavian countries to train and equip Ukrainian brigade

The presidents of Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and the prime ministers of Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Norway and Sweden announced that they would provide equipment and training for the Ukrainian brigade.

According to a joint statement by the leaders of these countries, they reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The leaders stressed that their priority is to strengthen Ukraine, and that it and Europe must be involved in any future negotiations to achieve a just and lasting peace. Ukraine must also receive strong security guarantees.
The Baltic and Scandinavian countries will continue to support Ukraine, in particular in the areas of air defence, ammunition supplies and investment in the Ukrainian defence industry. They also reaffirmed their commitment to Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, including its future membership in the EU and NATO.

As a reminder, the Swedish government has purchased RBS 70 and Tridon air defence systems for Ukraine worth $113 million. These systems are designed to enhance defence against attack drones and cruise missiles. Sweden will also provide Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles and additional anti-aircraft equipment for units on the front line.
