Star Wars Eclipse developer Quantic Dream won't suffer from NetEase's investment cuts
Quantic Dream, the studio behind the famous games Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, and the upcoming Star Wars Eclipse, said that its team was not affected by the cuts in investment by the Chinese company NetEase.
Here's What We Know
In a statement on LinkedIn, Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumier confirmed that the studio continues to work on its projects in full. In 2024, the company achieved record revenues thanks to successful sales of its old titles, including Detroit: Become Human, which sold over 11 million copies.
Although Quantic Dream and several other studios, such as Anchor Point Studios and Rebel Wolves, were not affected by the cuts, many other NetEase studios remain at risk. NetEase is actively looking for buyers for its overseas studios, including Nagoshi Studio, Grasshopper and others. If these studios do not find new investors, they may be closed.
Quantic Dream continues to work on its projects, including Star Wars Eclipse, although there is no official release date for this game yet.
