Poland orders 5000 additional Starlink terminals for Ukraine

The Polish government has ordered another 5,000 Starlink terminals for Ukraine, continuing to provide key support for communications at the frontline.
Here's What We Know
Polish Minister of Digitalisation Krzysztof Gawkowski said that his country provides half of all Starlink terminals operating in Ukraine. As of the end of 2024, Poland has handed over 24,400 of these devices.
The new batch was ordered back in November and is gradually arriving in Ukraine. Officially, these terminals are registered as a loan, not a gift, to avoid bureaucratic and tax complications.
Starlink plays a critical role in providing communications for the Ukrainian army. The number of active terminals varies - they are switched on and off as needed, and some were destroyed during the fighting.
Poland continues to financially support Starlink's work in Ukraine. In 2024, PLN 120.66 million was spent on maintenance and the purchase of new devices, and in 2025 this amount may increase to PLN 186.8 million.
