Dauntless, a role-playing game in the style of Monster Hunter, will be shut down on 29 May
Phoenix Labs announced in a post on X (Twitter) that Dauntless servers will stop working on 29 May 2025. Interestingly, the developers did not provide any explanation for this decision.
Important update: Dauntless is shutting down on May 29, 2025. Dauntless will receive no additional content or updates.

Dauntless will no longer be available to play on and after May 29, 2025 at 11:45PM PST.

Here's What We Know
It is worth noting that in May last year , we wrote that Phoenix Labs had made layoffs, and the studio would focus on supporting only two projects - Dauntless and Fae Farms, cancelling the development of all the previous ones. And at the end of January this year, the company Phoenix Labs lays off most employees - this is the 4th wave of layoffs since May 2023, during which most of the studio's employees were fired.
Probably, financial troubles and layoffs were the main reasons for the closure of Dauntless.
