Framework Laptop 13 has been updated with a new processor, Wi-Fi 7 and improved cooling

Framework has introduced an updated version of the Framework Laptop 13 with the latest AMD hardware. This time, the device received Ryzen AI 300 processors of the Strix Point series, including the top-end Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.

Here's What We Know

In addition to powerful chips, the laptop received several important updates: Wi-Fi 7 support, new Honeywell PTM7958 thermal paste for more efficient cooling, and a second-generation keyboard with updated keys (1.5 mm travel) and a special Co-Pilot key for Windows versions. Linux users can customise the keyboard to suit their preferences.

The amount of DDR5-5600 RAM remained at the level of the previous generation, but now you can install up to 96 GB. Up to 8 TB of M.2 NVMe storage is available for storage. In addition, all four I/O modules now support video output, allowing you to connect up to four displays simultaneously via USB-C or HDMI.

The price of the Framework Laptop 13 has become more affordable: the base model with AMD Ryzen 7040 processor costs from $749. The version with Strix Point chips starts at $899 and includes a 2.8K display with a frequency of 120 Hz (3:2 ratio). A motherboard can be purchased separately for $499 to upgrade the previous generation of the laptop.

Pre-orders are already open, and the first deliveries will begin shortly.

Framework has also announced the Framework 12, an affordable 12-inch transforming laptop that can be easily repaired and upgraded.
