Apple may release a smartphone with Face ID and MagSafe

Rumours about the development of a smart doorbell from Apple are gaining momentum. A few months ago, a well-known insider Mark Gurman reported that the company was working on a doorbell and lock system with Face ID that would connect to a compatible smart lock.
Here's What We Know
A well-known Kosutami insider has shared new information: the Apple doorbell will receive MagSafe support. This may mean that the device will have a built-in rechargeable battery with wireless charging. It is not yet clear whether a USB-C connector for wired charging will also be available.
While MagSafe technology may make charging more convenient, smart doorbells typically only need to be recharged a few times a year. There has also been speculation that Apple could use a magnetic mount for a detachable doorbell, but this could leave the device vulnerable to theft.

According to Gurman, the release of the Apple doorbell is scheduled for 2026 at the earliest. The company's main competitor in this area will be Amazon-owned Ring. Apple is expected to focus on privacy and security, as in the case of HomeKit Secure Video, which provides end-to-end encryption of video recordings in iCloud.
Apple is actively expanding its presence in the smart home segment. In addition to the doorbell, the company is preparing to release a smart hub and its own indoor camera, which will compete with Logitech's Circle View.
Kosutami is known for his leaks about Apple products, including predicting the use of a metal battery case in the iPhone 16 Pro 10 months before its release. However, the insider was wrong about the release of AirPods Pro 3 in 2024, so the information should be taken with caution.
