Warner Bros. has announced the closure of three of its game studios: Monolith Productions, Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games San Diego. This decision led to the cancellation of the Wonder Woman game, which was developed by Monolith Productions, known for the Middle-earth and FEAR series, but what are Warner Bros. plans for the future?

Here's What We Know

In an internal letter to employees, Warner Bros. CEO of streaming and games J.B. Perrett noted that recent releases did not meet the company's expectations. In this regard, it was decided to focus on "fewer but bigger franchises", such as Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC (mainly Batman), and Game of Thrones.

We are committed to rebuilding our trust and confidence in making great games

Although the exact number of employees who lost their jobs has not been disclosed, the company is trying to "reassign talent wherever possible". However, some of Monolith's former employees have already reported looking for new jobs.

Previously, the company faced financial losses, especially due to the failure of Suicide Squad, despite the success of projects such as Hogwarts Legacy.
