During the IGN Fan Fest 2025 event, British studio Rebellion presented a detailed video that reveals the main features of the post-apocalyptic RPG-shooter Atomfall.

Here's What We Know

The developers reminded that Atomfall is a complex and deep game that combines elements of shooter, RPG and survival simulator.

Players will find themselves in the UK in 1962, which survived a nuclear disaster.

In the world of Atomfall, there was an accident at the Windscale nuclear power station, as a result of which the northern part of the country became a huge exclusion zone and many residents were unable to leave it and were trapped. They will have to survive in difficult conditions, which are complicated not only by radiation and the presence of aggressive robots, but also by confronting members of a neo-pagan cult who do not want the restoration of a civilised world.

Atomfall will not lead players "by the pen" through the story, they must interact with characters, explore locations, read text notes and try to figure out events on their own.

Interestingly, the famous British red phone boxes are dotted around the game world. Players will be able to answer mysterious calls and get valuable information about hidden items and other important secrets.

In terms of gameplay, the game is reminiscent of modern Fallout, but comparisons with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The similarity with the Ukrainian game is noticeable not only in the setting and visual style, but also in the basic gameplay mechanics, story presentation and open world structure.

When We Can Expect It

Atomfall will be released on 27 March 2025. The game will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and will be available on Game Pass from day one.
