Apple has recently released the new iPhone 16e, which it claims has a new internal design that has increased battery capacity.

Here's What We Know

Although the company usually does not announce the exact mAh battery capacity for its iPhones, in his review on Dave2D YouTube channel, Dave Lee shared that the iPhone 16e is equipped with a 3961 mAh battery. This is 10% more than the standard iPhone 16, which has a battery capacity of 3561 mAh.

Compared to other models in the line:

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max - 4685 mAh
  • iPhone 16 Pro - 3582 mAh
  • iPhone 16 Plus - 4674 mAh
  • iPhone 16 - 3561 mAh
  • iPhone 16e - 3961 mAh

Apple claims the iPhone 16e has the longest battery life of any 6.1-inch model thanks to its new energy-saving C1 modem.

In real-world testing, when Dave Lee checked battery life on Reddit over Wi-Fi, the iPhone 16e lasted 12 hours and 54 minutes, which is 1 hour and 37 minutes longer than the standard iPhone 16, which lasted 11 hours and 17 minutes.

Tom's Guide's test showed similar results, with the iPhone 16e lasting an average of 12 hours and 41 minutes, while the iPhone 16 lasted 12 hours and 43 minutes.

Patrick Holland of CNET shared his impressions of the iPhone 16e's battery life. He said that he used the smartphone for six days and had to charge it only three times. He used a 30-watt adapter to charge it, and after 30 minutes of charging, the phone reached 59%. He said he used the device extensively, testing cameras, using Apple Intelligence tools, and playing graphically intensive games.

Patrick noted that the iPhone 16e can easily last a full day on a single charge, and with moderate use, a day and a half before needing to be recharged.

In a video streaming test with a fully charged battery, the iPhone 16e didn't lose any percentage of its charge in an hour, unlike the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15, which each lost 3% of its charge in the same time. Patrick added that while he still has more battery testing to do, he is impressed with the iPhone 16e's superior battery life.

Apple is currently accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 16e.
