Gboard for Android has been downloaded over 10 billion times on the Play Store

Gboard for Android has become the latest Google app to reach the 10 billion download mark on the Play Store. According to the application's page, it was released on 5 June 2013.
Here's What We Know
In December 2016, Gboard replaced Google Keyboard on Android, adding the ability to search the Internet. Gboard was originally introduced for iOS in May of the same year. In 2020, search was completely removed.
Now the app supports voice input without an internet connection on all devices, has integration with Google Translate, an OCR tool for scanning text, and a clipboard. Users can customise the keyboard background, choose different themes, change the keyboard height, and use one-handed or floating modes. Key features include a search for emojis, GIFs, stickers, and Emoji Kitchen to create unique combinations.
For Pixel devices, additional features are available, such as voice input with Google Assistant, spell checking, and integration with Pixel Screenshots.
Gboard is available not only on smartphones and tablets, but also on Wear OS and Android/Google TV. There is also a separate Google Automotive Keyboard for cars.
The last major update that became available this month brought a dynamic theme with two colours. Currently, Google is actively testing new features, including a toolbar for voice input via Assistant, undo and redo buttons, and the ability to view combinations with Emoji Kitchen. Updates usually take time to launch stably.
Gboard joins other Google apps such as YouTube, Play Services, Google Maps, Gmail, and Google Photos, which also have more than 10 billion downloads.
