Apple has faced criticism for the limitations of its new Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones, which cannot simultaneously play music and transmit heart rate data on gym machines.

Here's What We Know

According to a review by DC Rainmaker, it turned out that the new headphones, despite advertising, cannot support Bluetooth connectivity with a phone to play music when connected to sports equipment.

Apple has confirmed that the Powerbeats Pro 2 cannot simultaneously listen to music from an iPhone and transmit heart rate data to a fitness machine. Users on Reddit have also complained about this issue, which forces you to choose between music or heart rate data, but does not allow you to do so simultaneously.

In addition, the DC review highlighted problems with the accuracy of heart rate measurements on Apple devices. The earbuds, although claimed to be compatible with iOS and Android, did not work properly with various iPhone apps such as Zwift, Strava, Peloton, and others. After switching to Android devices, the heart rate monitoring function worked without any problems.

And although Apple claims that Powerbeats Pro 2 have undergone more than 1,500 hours of testing, real user reviews indicate certain shortcomings. The cost of the new headphones is $249.99, and they are available in four colours: Electric Orange, Hyper Purple, Jet Black and Quick Sand.
