Meta is preparing to release a separate AI application that will compete with products such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.

Here's What We Know

This app will become part of the Meta ecosystem, which includes Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

According to CNBC, Meta AI is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2025. The company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, aims to become a leader in the field of artificial intelligence by the end of the year. Although AI features are already integrated into services such as Facebook and Instagram search, Meta believes that a separate app will allow users to interact more deeply with its AI assistant.

Meta AI will be available for free, just like the company's other products. However, the company will also test a paid subscription with advanced features that will allow users to access more advanced AI functions.

Recently, there were rumours about the possible launch of a separate app for Reels, which would separate this feature from Instagram. This week, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri informed employees about the potential split of Instagram into a photo platform and Reels, a platform for short videos. At the moment, Meta has not yet decided on the release of such an app.

Meta also announced its first conference, LlamaCon, which will take place on 29 April. The event is named after the company's generative artificial intelligence models known as Llama.
