Just yesterday, we wrote the news that Xiaomi has officially unveiled the most powerful and fastest version of its SU7 electric sedan, the SU7 Ultra. It was later revealed that it reached its annual sales target of 10,000 units within just two hours.

Here's What We Know

Orders started being taken on 27 February at 22:00 Chinese time. Xiaomi received 6,900 orders for the SU7 Ultra in the first 10 minutes, and the 10,000 order milestone was crossed after two hours. This is despite the fact that a deposit of 20,000 yuan (about $2,700) is required to place an order. The application can be cancelled and the deposit refunded within a week. If this does not happen - the order is taken to work.

Particularly impatient buyers can also make a non-refundable deposit of 40,000 yuan (US$5,500) to get the car just before official deliveries begin in April. Xiaomi pulled off a similar marketing campaign last year with the regular SU7. The cars in that series were labelled "Founders Edition".

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra

The SU7 Ultra is a four-door sedan with three electric motors with a total output of 1,138 kW (1,526 hp). There is one 288 kW (386 hp) electric motor on the front axle and two 425 kW (570 hp) electric motors on the rear axle. The maximum torque is 1,770 Nm and the top speed is 359 km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 1.98 seconds.

Electricity is stored in a 93.7 kWh Qilin 2.0 NMC battery pack manufactured by CATL. It provides a range of 620 km in China's CLTC test cycle and charges from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 11 minutes.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is priced at 529,900 yuan (approximately $72,988).

European Premiere

Xiaomi today announced on its Weibo page that the SU7 Ultra will be unveiled on 3 March at Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC) in Spain. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has previously said that his company intends to start selling the car in Europe by 2030, although no more specific timeline is known.
