Google has updated the Song Search feature in its iOS app to add quick access to song search history. Users can now view recent searches directly in the app.

Here's What We Know

Launching Song Search on iOS now includes a new history button in the top right corner. It opens the Recent Song Searches page, which displays the 10 most recent results. This history includes searches via Circle to Search and other ways to use the feature.

Each card includes the album artwork (if available), song title, artist, and date of search. Clicking on a result opens Google Search with relevant information about the song.

At the bottom of the page, there is a "Show full story" button that leads to myactivity.google.com with the "Song Search" filter. It turns out that this history may have been available for a long time - in some cases since 2017. Newer entries also contain the original audio file used for the search.

You can access the story directly here: myactivity.google.com/myactivity?product=17.

The addition of quick access to history is a useful update. However, to view your searches, you must first launch the function that leaves an "Unrecognised song listened to" entry in My Activity. It would be more convenient to have a separate section for history, for example, in the Saved tab in the Google app.
