Samsung has announced that its first virtual reality headset Project Moohan will be presented at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona.

Here's What We Know

The presentation will take place tomorrow, 4 March. Earlier, the company demonstrated a prototype of this headset at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, but users were not able to try it.

Project Moohan is Samsung's first headset to run on Android XR, a special version of the Android operating system designed for virtual reality devices such as headsets and glasses. The device is equipped with an improved version of the Gemini AI assistant that supports multi-function control.

The headset has two OLED microscreens with a high refresh rate, a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor, two eye-tracking cameras, and at least eight front-facing cameras. The device also automatically adjusts lenses when put on.

Project Moohan supports interaction through a combination of eye, hand, and finger gestures, but it is also possible to use special controllers for movement. For power, the headset requires an external battery connected via a USB Type-C port.

Some of Google's most popular apps, including Google Maps and YouTube, have been optimised for use on the new headset, providing a full-screen experience.

MWC attendees will be able to experience Project Moohan and other Samsung innovations at the Galaxy Experience stand in Fira Gran Via Hall 3 in Barcelona.
