A Call of Duty The Ghost Of Hope insider has stated that Warzone 3 may not be released alongside Call of Duty in 2026 if the return of the Verdansk map does not attract enough players.

Here's What We Know

Verdansk, the iconic map from the original Warzone 2020, is returning to the game with the Season 03 update, which was pushed back to April 3 for finalisation. Activision hopes that this will be a Fornite OG-like event that will bring back millions of players. According to an insider, if this does not work, the launch of Warzone 3 may be cancelled.

Call of Duty: Warzone debuted in March 2020 and quickly became one of the most popular battle royale games thanks to its innovative approach and integration with the main games in the series. However, the game's popularity has recently declined due to technical issues and criticism of updates. Activision hopes that the return of Verdansk in its original form will help revive interest in the game.

According to rumours, Warzone 3 may be released alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IV in 2026. However, this will depend on the success of the current updates and Verdansk's ability to retain players. If the map does not perform well, Activision may decide to focus on improving the existing version of Warzone 2 instead of launching a new iteration.
