HMD has announced a new smartphone, the HMD X1, developed in partnership with Xplora for children and teens. It is a device that focuses on safety, giving parents full control over their children's digital experience.

Here's What We Know

The HMD X1 offers features that are likely to be important to kids and teens, including a 108-megapixel camera and a powerful 5000mAh battery for long-lasting performance. However, the main focus is on safety: the smartphone allows parents to restrict access to the Internet and social media, as well as set up safe zones and track their children's whereabouts in real time.

Thanks to the school mode, the smartphone automatically blocks unwanted applications during school hours. All settings can be managed through the Xplora app, allowing parents to adjust the smartphone's functions depending on the circumstances.

The smartphone is also equipped with Face ID technology and a fingerprint scanner. In addition, the HMD X1 allows children to personalise the phone with various accessories.

The company says that its goal is to help parents find a balance between providing children with modern technology and protecting them from online threats, ensuring a safe and controlled digital experience.
