Monster Hunter Wilds continues its successful journey, selling more than 8 million copies in the first three days of its release. This made it the fastest-selling game in Capcom's history, overtaking previous leaders such as Resident Evil.

Here's What We Know

Monster Hunter Wilds was released on 28 February 2025 and instantly became the best-selling game on all platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Although Capcom has not yet disclosed detailed information on sales on individual platforms, the game topped the physical sales charts in the UK and is likely to have performed well in Japan. Official figures from Japan are expected later this week from Famitsu.

For comparison, another big hit, Black Myth: Wukong, sold over 10 million copies in a similar time period. God of War Ragnarok sold 5.1 million copies in its first week, but only on PS5 and PS4.
