Lenovo has announced the launch of the new Xiaoxin Whale colour inkjet multifunction printer in China.

Here's What We Know

This 3-in-1 model supports colour printing, copying and scanning. According to the company, the new product allows printing up to 7,000 pages on a single set of ink cartridges. However, it is worth noting that this printer does not support double-sided printing, unlike the older Xiaoxin Elephant model.

The Xiaoxin Whale printer is equipped with support for two Wi-Fi bands (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) and Bluetooth. This allows you to remotely transfer print jobs from your smartphone, laptop or tablet. The model is compatible with Windows and macOS devices. You can control the printer through the Lenovo app or via WeChat, which allows you to print in one click. The printer also supports up to 20 users at a time, and there is a USB-A port for physical connection.

The Xiaoxin Whale is already available for purchase in China at a price of 899 yuan (~US$123) for first-time buyers. The listed retail price is 1,099 yuan (~US$151). However, it is unlikely that this printer will make it to the North American or European markets, as Lenovo does not sell its own printers in these regions.

Lenovo recently introduced the concept of removable displays for its own laptops. The Chinese company showed a collection of gadgets under the general name Magic Bay Tico, the capabilities of which are demonstrated on the example of the ThinkBook 16P Gen 6 laptop.
