Acclaim, a well-known game publisher since the end of the 20th century, is back with a new focus on supporting indie developers and reviving its classic franchises. The latter remains a key objective for the company as it seeks to reintroduce its iconic intellectual property to a modern audience.

Here's What We Know

The revived Acclaim is backed by an advisory board of industry veterans, including Russell Binder of Striker Entertainment, Mark Caplan of Ridge Partners and professional wrestler Jeff Jarrett of Global Force Entertainment. In addition, the company entered into partnership agreements with Phil Toronto of VaynerFund and Eric Vogel of JET Management. The company's management is led by CEO Alex Josef, a seasoned professional with over twenty years of experience in publishing and marketing games for PC, console and mobile platforms.

Jarrett expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting his extensive experience in both wrestling and gaming. He emphasised the importance of Acclaim's heritage, recalling his involvement in the creation of classic 16-bit WWF games and the TNA Wrestling series. He described the company's revival as an opportunity to pass on the same passion and excitement to a new generation of players.

Josef also shared his excitement about Acclaim's return, praising the team's talent and confirming that several indie titles have already been signed.

Although Acclaim has yet to reveal its initial projects, its commitment to reviving classic games suggests a potential return of favourites such as Vexx, Re-Volt, as well as various sports games including WWF Warzone and NBA Jam 99.
