Rockstar Games has released the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced PC update, which adds features previously only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The update is free for all owners of the game and comes with a 50% discount until 20 March.

Here's What We Know

The GTA 5 Enhanced Edition update brings a number of graphical and technical improvements:

  • Ray tracing: realistic shadows and reflections.
  • New graphical options: global lighting, ambient occlusion and support for higher resolutions and frame rates.
  • Technologies: AMD FSR, Nvidia DLSS and future support for Frame Generation.
  • Faster loading: thanks to SSD and DirectStorage.
  • Improved sound: Dolby Atmos and enhanced quality of music, dialogue and cinematic scenes.

In addition, owners of DualSense controllers will receive support for adaptive triggers for even greater immersion in the game.

For GTA Online fans, the update adds:

  • New vehicles and modifications to Hao's Special Works.
  • Chameleon Paints for car customisation.
  • Kernel-based cheat protection and moderated voice chat communication.
  • Also, new animals have been added to the game world, which can be photographed as part of the daily Wildlife Photography Challenge.

With the release of the update, the original version of GTA 5 is no longer available for purchase, but it can still be used if your PC does not meet the new requirements. To upgrade to the new version, you need to transfer your progress in the story mode and GTA Online. And it is important to know that players of different versions of the game will not be able to play together.
