The Last of Us season two will feature characters that have never been in the game: 6 new actors have joined the project

Six new actors have now been added to the second season of The Last of Us adaptation, which starts on 13 April 2025. New characters will help expand the story based on the events of The Last of Us Part II.
Here's What We Know
Bella Ramsay (Ellie) and Pedro Pascal (Joel) will be joined by Joe Pantoliano, Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers, Hettienne Park, Robert John Burke and Noah Lamanna.
- Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix, Bad Boys for Life) will play Eugene, a Jackson patrolman who was part of the Fireflies and has a complicated family history.
- Robert John Burke (Law Order: Special Victims Unit) will play the role of Seth, a Jackson resident who first appeared in the game.
- Noah LaManna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) will play Kat, Ellie's ex-girlfriend, who was previously mentioned in Part II but did not appear in person.
- The other three characters - Hanrahan (Alanna Ubach), Burton (Ben Allers) and Alice Park (Hattienne Park) - were created specifically for the series.
The new characters will help deepen the plot of The Last of Us Part II. For example, Eugene, who was only mentioned in the game through letters and collectibles, will get more screen time.
Kat will also play an important role in the series. The trailer shows a scene where Ellie gets her tattoo, a moment connected to Kat in the game.
The second season will consist of seven episodes and will tell the story five years after the first season.
